
Casey Alden Stokes, 62, of Shreveport, Louisiana, passed away on March 8, 2017. He was born March 10, 1954 to Dan and Sara Stokes. Casey grew up in Mansfield and graduated from Mansfield High School where he lettered in football, basketball, and track, and played in the band. He attended SMU, worked at Western Electric, and then worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 26 years. He was preceded in death by his father and his grandparents, Harvey and Sara Cale Samuels and Daniel and Winona Stokes. Casey is survived by his wife, Sandra, his mother, Sara, sons Casey II, and Jeremy (Brooke), step-daughter Brandi Normandin (Jesse), grandchildren Bailey and Landry Stokes, Zayden, Jesse, Lattrell, and Kei’untre Normandin, sisters Sally Grigsby and Anne Lindsay Minninger (David), Brother Shaw, sister-in-law Linda Migues, mother-in-law Shirley Arnold, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. A memorial service was held in Shreveport on Tuesday, March 14, with Reverend Kathy Fitzhugh of Mansfield’s First United Methodist Church presiding. Special Thanks to hospice nurse Mike Chelette for his care and compassion. The family suggests memorial may be made to the Humane Society of North Louisiana.
