OUR PRECIOUS MOTHER MILDRED LENORA BUXTON ROGERS

Funeral services honoring the life of Mildred Lenora Buxton Rogers, 97, were held at United Pentecostal Church in Deweyville, Texas at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 17, 2019. Officiating the service was Seth Williams, Harold Braniff, and Stephen Buxton. The family received friends for visitation from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Burial followed at Doyle Cemetery in Starks, Louisiana.

Mildred was born July 30, 1921 in Starks, Louisiana to the late William R. Buxton and Dora Clark Buxton. She entered into rest on June 13, 2019. Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Leroy Rogers; daughter, Gloria Nell Rogers Moll; grandson, Jerry Don Herring; five brothers and four sisters.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Larry Rogers of Mansfield, Louisiana and Donnie Rogers of Shreveport, Louisiana; daughters, Gwenda Zak of Pearland, Texas, Virginia Dunn and husband, Curtis of Mansfield, Louisiana, Nita Jacobs and husband, Larry of Lafayette, Louisiana, and Cheryl Rogers of Mansfield, Louisiana; sister, Sophia McCormick of San Diego, California; brother, Gerald Buxton of Crestline, California; 19 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Mildred was an employee of Wal-Mart of Mansfield, Louisiana for many years. She enjoyed working with the public and witnessing of God’s love to all. Mildred’s passion was to please God and was shown by her example of her unwavering faith. She had a beautiful voice and a great love of music. She had a great love for those in ministry and honored them by cooking and always having an open door to them. Her smile and positive attitude influenced many. Mildred was a source of love, joy, and strength to her children, grandchildren, and so many that were privileged to know her. She had a great passion for gardening and quite a flare for fashion. She was a lady of strong faith believing in the power and strength of Jesus Christ love and the beauty and peace that would await after her passing. She will be deeply missed but her legacy of truth will live on.

Honoring Mrs. Rogers as pallbearers will be Mike Herring, Larry Jacobs, Brent Jacobs, Stephen Herring, Curtis Dunn, and Timothy Michot.
