Funeral services honoring the life of James Randel Garrett, 74, were held at 10:00 AM Saturday, July 23, 2016 at First Baptist Church in Logansport, LA with Reverend Charles Hall, Reverend Timothy Robertson, and Reverend Eric Garrett officiating. Burial followed at Price Cemetery in Logansport, LA. The family received friends for visitation at First Baptist Church in Logansport, from 8:00 AM until time of service. James was born on April 1, 1942 in Henderson, Texas to Robert and Nellie Daughtry Garrett and passed away on July 19, 2016 in Shreveport, LA. Preceding James in death were his parents Robert and Edna Garrett Those left behind to cherish his memory is his wife, Linda Carol Garrett; son, James Robert Garrett; daughter, Randi Renee’ Weathersby; brothers, Alfred Douglas Garrett, Robert Lynn Garrett, Parker Lee Garrett; grandchildren, Katie Lynn Garrett, Garrett Vaughan Weathersby, and brother-in-law, Lee Simmons and wife Solia. Those honoring the life of James as pallbearers were Ronnie King, George Orum, Jeremy Boyett, Cecil McCune, Scott Gibbs, and Jack Rushing. Those serving as honorary pallbearers were Learohn Caldwell, Gus Hamden, Scott Evans, Pam Dunnigan, Dr. Robert Massengil, and Jason Richardson.
