Funeral services honoring the life of Henry “Clay” Clark, III will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 1, 2021, located at First Baptist Church Logansport. Officiating the service will be Rev. Shawn Thrapp. Assisting the service will be Rev. Timothy Roberson. A visitation will be held at the church from 1:00 p.m. until service time. Interment will follow the service located at O.E. Price Cemetery in Logansport, Louisiana.
Clay was born on October 24, 1949, in Logansport, Louisiana to Henry Clay Clark, Jr. and Audrey Lee Rupe. He entered into eternal rest on June 28, 2021, in Shreveport, Louisiana. Clay retired from the DeSoto Parish School System where he taught for 40 years. He also served on the Civil Service Board for DeSoto Parish Fire District 1.
Preceding Clay in death are his parents, Henry Jr. and Audrey Clark; and his sister, Nancy Serwe. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Shirley Clark of Logansport, LA; son, Henry Cody Clark and spouse Tonya of Logansport, LA; his daughter, Emily Clark Simmons and spouse Troy of Keithville, LA; grandchildren, Bailey, Bubba, Clayton, and Eric Clark, and Cayden and Shelby Simmons; great-grandchildren, Ellie, Mattie, and Drew; nieces, and Robin Serwe Register and Eva Serwe Shook.
Honoring Clay as pallbearers will be Timothy Roberson, Chase Caldwell, Mark Magee, Gary Henderson, David Graves, and Brant Graves. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Spencer Stewart, Dale Morvan, Parker Garrett, and the 1967 graduating class of Logansport High School.
