Funeral service for Carey Lee Franklin, 93, of Mansfield, Louisiana will be held on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield, Louisiana. Reverend Bob Latham will be officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery in Mansfield. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until time of service.
Carey was born on his family farm in DeSoto Parish on February 19, 1929, and passed away April 30, 2022, after a lengthy illness. He worked for LA DOTD for 31 years as Construction Inspector Specialist.
Carey is preceded in death by his parents, “Happy” and Effie Franklin; two infant brothers; first wife, Jean Fox; and grandson, Paul Perkins.
Left to cherish his memory include wife Helen King Franklin; daughter, Virginia Laffitte (Randy); stepchildren, Bobby Dale Armour, Jr. (Alicé), and Mary Armour; step grandchildren, Laura Vance, and Jackson Stock; step great grandchildren, Cole and Camryn Vance; and a host of relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Tony, Justin and Joey Morello, Bobby Dale Armour, Randy Ranson, and Joe Freeman.
