Services for Wallace Register were held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at First Baptist Church of Logansport. Burial followed at Woodsprings Baptist Church Cemetery, Grand Cane, LA. Wallace was a 41 year resident of Woodsprings Community and a Lifelong resident of Logansport, La. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved working on his farm and tending to his garden. He loved to visit with everyone and never met a stranger. Wally, as he was affectionately known, was a friend to everyone he ever came in contact with and was always there for all his friends and family in their time of need. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by many, many people. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Roberts and Robert Delane Register; brothers, W.C. (Dempsey) Register, and Robert (Bob) Register; sisters, Betty Register Price, and Winnie Register Bryan. Wallace is survived by his loving wife, Rita Morris Register; two sons, Jody Lynn Lamb and wife Kim, Robert Morris Register and wife Nakia; one daughter, Sandi Register Byas and husband Don; grandchildren, Jacob Lamb, Kensi Lamb, Kristen Lamb, Trace Lamb, Drake Lamb, Jaycee McKnight, T. J. McKnight, Rachel Russell, Logan Self, Nocona Self, Ryleigh Byas and Wyatt Byas; four brothers, Gene Register and wife Flora, Wayne Register and wife Dee, Gerald Register and wife Lois, Ronald Register and wife June; and two sisters Florence Goslin and husband Don, and Alice Edmiston and husband Dave; and host of nieces, nephews and a life long friend Robert Brown. Pallbearers will be Joey Register, Craig Register, Everett (Bib) Register, Richard (Puddy) Register, Michael Cowdin, and Eugene (Son) Cowdin. Alternate pallbearers are Jody Matthews and Eric Wheless. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be D. W. Wheless, Rick Carter, Gregory Cowdin, Christopher Register, and Clarence (Junebug) Green.
