March 24, 1963-June 18, 2018

Michael Ray Locke was born on March 24, 1963 in Shreveport, La to the late Billy Ray Locke & JoAnn Ward in Shreveport, Louisiana. Michael attended Town and Country School from 1st grade to his senior year when it closed. He graduated from Mansfield High School in May 1982. He then furthered his education at Louisiana Tech in Music Education from August 1984 to May 1989. Mike was a licensed florist for 33 years. He worked in Caddo, Bossier, DeSoto, Sabine Parishes, New Orleans, Texas and Georgia. One of his memorable moments was when he took an order from Lionel Richie. Michael was also a Minister of Music. He played at Fellowship Baptist Church and First Baptist Church. Mike loved making people happy by his floral designs during their time of grief. The talents that God blessed him with he used to his fullest ability until his health failed him. He had a big heart and put others first before himself. Mike took care of his mom until her death in August 2011. Michael Ray Locke succumbed to Chronic Kidney disease. Mike is preceded in death by his parents, Billy Ray and JoAnn Ward, maternal grandparents, Doyle and Annie Ruth Ward, and paternal grandparents, John D. Locke, Sr. and Dessie Mae Morano Locke. He is survived by his brother, James Gregory Locke of Shreveport, La, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces, and dear friends. His dog Deigo was a very close companion to him.
