Senior Master Sergeant Frank J Elliott age 87 went to Heaven from his home in Longstreet, LA on May 14th 2018 with his Helen Elliott and his two sons, Warren and Ben by his side. His death was a result of complications of Alzheimer’s disease. Frank was born in Stanley Wisconsin to Clifford Robert and Kathryn (Hurley) Elliott on September 18th 1930. His family moved to Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin where he went to school. In elementary school Frank was active in scouting. In high school he played basketball, football, played the trumpet in school band, he also competed in the figure skating. After graduating from Chippewa Falls High School, he went to River Falls College to play basketball, but ended up on the football team. His college career was interrupted in 1951 by the Korean War, which changed the lives of many young men, who were eligible for the draft, Frank included. He made the decision to join the United States Air Force to serve his country. That was a good decision. He took the oath to serve his country in July of 1951, and did so with pride and honor for the next 28 years. His first assignment was basic training in Texas, his last duty assignment was NCOIC of Materiel Control, 2nd bomb Wing at Barksdale Air Force Base in Bossier City, Louisiana. He retired from military service in July 1979. Leisure Life lasted only a short period of time. He went to work for Schumpert Medical Center in Shreveport, Louisiana as their Medical Warehouse Supervisor. After 15 years he retired again. He then became involved with Youth Sports in Bossier City, Louisiana. One of his greatest joys was coaching his two sons in Little League Sports. In 1995 Frank and Helen decided to move to the country. We moved to the rural Village of Longstreet, Louisiana in DeSoto Parish, which was close to Toledo Bend Lake, the Sabine River and fishing! In Longstreet Frank became an Alderman on the Village Council and after a few years became the Mayor of Longstreet. During this time he was a board member of the Logansport Chamber of Commerce and also served on the Board of Commissioners for Fire District #1 in Logansport, LA. Frank enjoyed meeting people and becoming involved in the community where he resided. Each summer we journeyed to the Elliott family cabin on Loon Lake in northern Wisconsin where Frank spent his boyhood summers with his family doing what he loved, which was swimming and fishing!!! Frank is survived by his wife Helen Rivers Elliott, married for 62 years 5 months and 2 days at the time of his leaving the earth; by his three sons Mark Dennis Elliott Saline (Rosalyn), of Culloeska, Tennessee, Warren Joseph Elliott (Lisa) of Benton, LA, Benjamin Clifford Elliott of Longstreet, LA, Sister, Lavonne Misfeldt of Solon, Iowa, and three grandsons and 3 great grand children. Frank was preceded in death by his infant daughter Mona Rae Elliott, a special granddaughter Lexie, his parents Clifford Robert and Kathryn Elliott of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, Brothers, C.S. Elliott of Eau Claire, WI, Dale Elliott of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, Jim Elliot of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and sister Florena Nelson of Charlotte, North Carolina. Frank’s last act of giving was to donate his body to Medical Science, so that he may contribute to the ongoing research and causes and possible cure for the devastating disease of Alzheimer’s. He gave his all for mankind. God has made my Frank whole again! He is walking, talking, seeing, hearing, and SMILING!! Until I get there my darling husband - Loving you forever! Helen
